Update Menu: View the calendar by month When you click on this link, you will be presented with a display that is similar to the view to the public. When you click on an event name it will present you with a form that will allow you to change any information on the event. You can also delete the event, or mark it un-approved. Update Menu: Add a new item to this calendar When you click on the 'Add a new item...' link, it presents you with a form to fill out all pertinent information to add an event to the calendar. If you click on the 'Find date' link, a pop up window will allow you click on the date you need and it will automatically fill in the date on the form field for you. Alternately, you can simply type in the date you wish to use (please maintain the mm-dd-yyyy format). You can also enter the length or number of days the event lasts. (Example: A play at LHS shows on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday all at the same time. Simply put the first day in the date field, and put that it lasts for 4 days. It will automagicly show up on all four days!) You may also enter in a specific time, or leave it blank for an all day/non time specific event. In the 'Title' box is where you will put the event name. It is not necessary to have your school's name in this field, so instead of 'Deerfield School Play' you should just put 'School Play' - when viewing a calendar for a specific school, it is implied that the event is for the schools in question. The master calendar is setup so that when viewed, it will put the school name at the beginning of the event title like 'Deerfield: School Play'. The 'Brief Information' box is, as the name implies, a place to put a short description of your new event. 'Location' can be either 'Deerfield Elementary School Gymnasium' or you can put the street address, or you can put both. The 'pick' link next to location is similar to the 'Find Date' box, in that when you click on it, a window will pop up and you can pick a location from the box, and it will fill it in for you. You can add new locations off of the main menu 'Change and Add new Locations' option. The last box is for more thorough information. You can also include HTML in this box. If you want to make something bold or italic all you need to do is place the proper tags around the word or words. (<b> & </b> for bold, <i> & </i> for italic. You can also add hyperlinks. The proper way to add a hyper link is as follows: To link to another web page: To make an E-mail link: |
